Originally, First Castle Federal Credit Union and Labarre Associates, Inc. teamed up to develop a strategic facilities plan to relocate their headquarters from New Orleans to Covington, utilizing Real Estate, Architecture, and Construction teams at Labarre. After many years of growth, in 2018, First Castle FCU reapproached Labarre to develop a completely new branch type and operations model in Slidell, LA.

In 2011, First Castle Federal Credit Union came to Labarre Architects, APAC and Labarre Construction to design and build a small branch for a strip mall located in Slidell, LA. After a few years of operating out of that branch, they quickly outgrew their small space. First Castle FCU once again reached out Labarre for design and construction services for a new, ground up, 2,890 sf branch that celebrated First Castle’s history with the Corps of Engineers New Orleans District with a strong structural look to the exterior.

Partnering with the best in Baton Rouge

The interior utilizes a remote teller for customer transactions, and with the help of CDI Solutions, the branch has a retail feel to the lobby using their corporate colors as well as artwork displaying the history of not only First Castle, but of Slidell, LA as well.
